Tulwe Inc., is a Palo Alto based, tech startup that seeks to create an innovative social media ecosystem which combines a “new way” social media platform with entertainment, social initiatives, and peer to peer payment services.
On November 4th, 2016, Tulwe launched its first product to the global community – an online music contest for aspiring artists around the globe who will compete for recording contracts, cash and prizes potentially worth $1 million.
Our goal is to seek out and recruit musical talent by providing a unique mobile platform for undiscovered artists. For the contest, the artists will be able to upload music, and/or music videos, with their smart phones or any video recording devices, to showcase their talents to a worldwide audience.
One of the goals of the competition is to encourage artists from developing countries to compete in these types of contests where they may have been restricted from competing previously due to geography.
The contest is modeled after some of the most successful TV talent shows like “Britain’s Got Talent”, “X Factor” and “American Idol”…with a focus on the mobile platform. The competitions will be 100% online and run for 6 weeks with Tulwe mobile application users voting on who moves forward into the next round. There will be a total of 6 rounds of competition with 10 contestants participating in semifinal round and 5 in the finals.
Our mobile application is available for both Apple and Android operating systems and currently available for download from www.tulwe.com, the Apple Store and Google Play.
Contestants now have the opportunity to record and upload their music until midnight Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the 31st of January 2017. Starting on 1st February 2017, contestants and users who have downloaded the mobile application will be able to sign on and vote for their favorite music videos when the first round of votes begins. Voting for the first round will be for a period of 24 hours. Thereafter, there will be 4 more rounds of voting with voters having a period of 6 days to vote until the final round which starts on the 16th of March 2017.
